Best Friends Begin New Life Together
The wedding was a dream come true for Grace Taylor and Andrew Johnson, a match made in heaven. Married in the summer of 2010 in the presence of friends and family, the couple first met at the University of Georgia. Both are athletes: Grace a champion gymnast and Andrew a former walk–on defensive back for UGA’s football team. They met through the Fellowship of Christian Athletes on campus and were good friends before they began dating. Their similarities only begin with sports.
The two are soul mates and best friends who share church, friends and building their new lives together. “I couldn’t stop smiling the whole day,” says Grace several months after the wedding. “It was amazing to have all our friends and family together with us in one place as we got married.”
The couple became engaged in November 2009, but Grace didn’t start planning in earnest until after her gymnastics competition season was finished the following May. Grace handled most of the details for the 350–guest ceremony and reception. Several of her friends helped, including Jenny Vanderberg, Danielle Grant and Grace’s former coach, Suzanne Yoculan Leeburn. Her attendants — nine bridesmaids and a maid of honor — wore Capri blue gowns.“That’s Andrew’s favorite color,” she says. “We all grew up on princesses, and the gowns looked so Cinderella against the white of my dress.”
